Well, here we are again.
Another year begins and it is just another day.

Except that it is a friends birthday today. Happy Birthday James! Is it wierd to be a New Years baby? I never have asked I don't think. I imagine it's a bit like being a Christmas baby, only you actually get a party and stuff instead of people lumping it in with the holiday.

My little brother just had a birthday, and my mother-in-law, and my husbands best friend since childhood, and my husbands birthday is coming up...Lots of Capricorns in my life. I don't really get it. Apparently Capricorn is one of the most compatible signs with Pisces. It seems all my good girlfriends are Pisces too, which is also odd. The whole birthday thing is making me feel old. I guess because I'm about 3 months away from my 30th. *cringes*

I was doing some random things online yesterday and decided to do some weight conversions. I weigh about 150 pounds (most of it is breast, so don't get any ideas that I'm fat. Besides, I'm nearly 6 feet tall). I used a conversion chart and discovered that I weigh 68 kilos or 10.7 stone. So for all my metric friends, now you know. :) I don't know why I did it, but I've always wondered how I would answer if someone from Europe asked me my weight. Now I know what to say. If we could just all be metric it would save time. I don't know which is more accurate, but it doesn't really matter, so long as we're all doing the same thing.

I've also fallen in love with some random little cartoons. I know I have anime friends here, so most of you have probably seen Ghost in the Shell. It's rather a classic. But they've made other movies and series about those same characters, with the addition of a wonderful collection of little AIs who are also armored personnel carriers (shaped like little blue spiders). They are the Tachikomas! And if you haven't seen them I dare you to watch them and think they aren't cute. I'm completely obsessed. I really want one. Someone has to have made little robotic ones somewhere, and I wants it!

This year is over, and for the most part I think it was horrendous, but I have hope the new one will get better. We've got a new President, who might turn out to be less hopeless than the last one. I'm holding onto that, since he's the first President that I ever bothered to vote for. At this point I wonder if anyone can be as bad as Dubya.

Also, some friends of mine have finally, after a long struggle, gotten pregnant, and I'm really looking forward to being her wierd Auntie. Their first ultrasound is soon to do a head count. With all the drugs Steph has been taking there is a high chance of twins. I'm thinking, share the wealth! But that's just me.

I bleached my hair white-blond this fall. I looked like Spike from Buffy, especially after I cut it all off. Jim wanted me to grow it out because he wants to see my natural color. I've left it alone but for cutting it for 4 months. Now all I have is little blond tips, and suddenly I'm so painfully bored. I have a box of color downstairs and it's going to be back to red again before tomorrow. I have no patience, and who cares what my natural color is anyway? I've never felt like a blond and I look horrible as one, so why keep it? Despite popular opinion, the gods don't necessarily do what's best for you when they give you your hair color. For all I know the Lady just flipped a coin. She's giving me dirty looks now, but I don't care. I'm done with this farce.

I realize I'm rambling, but I've been feeling really closeted lately. I never seem to get to do anything fun without feeling like I'm being punished psychologically. And I certainly can't get any time away. There has to be a better way to make money, where you can actually get the days you need off.

Oh well. Back to watching Monarch of the Glen on Netflix.
